Day- 21

Well, the vacation is over...

The day began with a bit of a scare that our flight would be delayed with all the weather in MN. It is hard to leave the 72 degrees and sunshine to head back into a snowstorm. 

We had a great time visiting Kate this week. She and her guy spent a lot of time showing us many of the sights and we have seen a whole new side to "Las Vegas". 

Today we checked out of the hotel at 11:00 am and visited the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. It was fun and something Kate hadn't done yet. 

We visited the apartment complex Kate is  moving to and saw the model. The apartment is just adorable. The draw wA the 24 hour Fitness Center and pool. 

Then on to Barnes & Noble for some browsing, Greek restaurant for dinner and Interstellar at the show!  

11:00 pm and we are awaiting the boarding of or 12:40 am flight...

Day - 20

A day at Lake Mead with Kate and Jamani. 

I love how many of these pics look more like paintings:). The dry areas used to be filled!  The lake is down over 120 feet the lowest in many decades. 

And we saw some more very interesting vegetation. 

And a wonderful dinner at Sweet Tomatoes!  

Tomorrow we check out and begin the journey home. We have seen that the weather is not looking too good. Please keep us in your prayers!  

Day - 19

What a day!  We spent the day vegging, knitting socks and watching movies. The day began when Kate got off work.

We headed to Fremont Street. This is my idea of Vegas!  Old-fashioned and fun. 

Kate wanted to have dinner at Heart Attack Grill. She saw it on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It was a a "medical" atmosphere and we had to wear hospital gowns (yep taking me right out of my comfort zone!) if you don't finish your burger you get spanked...Kate and I were good girls...the boys-eyes bigger than stomachs!

Then we walked Fremont street and found Slotzilza!  Something to cross off my bucket list...rick and I did the zip line!

So much fun!  

 And we got to see the light show!!

Day - 18

Time for chores...  Rick reluctantly navigated through the crazy, busy streets of Las Vegas to find a Barnes & Noble for me, find a Laundromat, and loop back to the hotel. 

Finally got some pics of the Luxor to post. 

And then this evening, we went to see...

It was great!  Hysterical!  

Day - 17

Today we will explore The Strip:)

And a wonderful meal. Rick and I shared this wonderful feast...so much fun!!  

Three different kinds of filets (we both liked the New Zealand filet the best), Yukon mashed Potatoes, lyonnaise potatoes, grilled asparagus, cream corn, and lobster...yum!

And finished the night with Coco Loco:)

Day - 16

Today our plan was to get on the road early...we didn't quite make that:). There is not much to say about the Luxor, but the beds are comfortable. 

In typical Varecha fashion, we are headed to explore more States!  In one our trips a few years ago we had hoped to get to Zion National Park, but didn't quite make it. So that is on the agenda today!  Kate has never been there either. The journey will take us through Arizona and into Utah!

Day - 15

4:30 am waiting for the shuttle to the airport!  On to Las Vegas to see Kate:)

Landed and Kate was waiting😊. She had a whole day planned - 

My. Charleston - Beautiful and it was great to be outside in the sunshine!  Love the Joshua Trees everywhere!
